What should I bring to class?
Just a notebook, a pen, and your enthusiasm! We provide the curriculum and the vibes.
Can I join if I know zero Twi?
Absolutely! Our Beginner 1 class is built specifically for absolute beginners. We’ll guide you every step of the way.
Where exactly is the center?
We are located in the serene community of Adjringanor, East Legon. It’s a perfect, quiet spot to focus on your learning
How do I pay?
You can secure your spot directly through our website in the above section of this page. Spaces fill up fast due to our small class sizes!
I’m worried about the pronunciation. Is Twi hard to learn?
Twi is a tonal language, which can feel new at first, but our instructors break it down into simple, rhythmic steps. You’ll be surprised at how quickly your ear tunes into the sounds!
What happens if I miss a class?
Since we meet once a week, we encourage consistent attendance to keep up with the group flow. However, we provide session summaries so you can catch up on the key vocabulary before the next class.
Is there homework?
We prefer to call it “Life-work.” We’ll give you simple challenges to try out in the “real world” during your week—like greeting a neighbor or asking a specific question at the shop. The best practice is outside the classroom!
Will I get a certificate at the end?
Yes! Upon completion of the 12-week session, you will receive a certificate of participation from the Black Star Center and Twi Learning Center to celebrate your milestone.
